Recently, representatives from a modified plastics pelletizing manufacturer visited Tianjin Ruicheng Pump Industry to discuss melt conveying and equipment requirements for a project at the R&D stage. Based on the project’s process objectives, both parties discussed the operating conditions for melt pumps in modified plastics pelletizing, pump selection and further technical coordination.
During the visit, the customer toured the production workshop to learn about the machining of pump bodies, gears and other components, as well as complete pump assembly. Technical staff explained the operating principles of melt pumps, material selection and heating methods. Discussions also covered formulation adjustments, changes in output and equipment compatibility during R&D.
Modified plastics formulations vary in flow characteristics, abrasiveness, corrosiveness and processing temperature. Melt pump selection requires consideration of the material type, filler content, target output and operating differential pressure, along with upstream feeding conditions and compatibility with downstream filtration and pelletizing equipment. To meet this project’s corrosion resistance requirements, Ruicheng selected a 316 stainless steel pump body, with gears and bushings also made from corrosion-resistant materials suited to the operating conditions. This configuration supports both corrosion resistance and stable operation. With sufficient inlet feeding and properly plasticized material, the melt pump boosts pressure and provides metered conveying, helping stabilize downstream feeding for formulation trials and process validation.
The visit gave both parties a clearer understanding of the project requirements and Ruicheng’s manufacturing capabilities. Following the workshop tour and technical discussions, they agreed on the melt pump’s materials and equipment configuration and established a cooperation agreement. Ruicheng will proceed with production and delivery according to the confirmed specifications, while continuing technical coordination to support project development and subsequent equipment operation.
